Fees & Insurance
The fees in our office are based on two general criteria:
1) the time and expense needed to provide a service
2) the care, skill and judgement required to provide that service
Payment is due at the time of service. We ask that the patient make
every effort for payment in full at that time which then entitles
them to a 5% courtesy. We accept cash, check, MasterCard, Visa and any other
line of credit check. We make every effort to keep down the cost of dental care and payment at the time of service helps contain costs associated with billing.
Payment Plans
Our goal is not to let the cost of investing in your oral health
prevent a patient from benefiting from quality dental care. To facilitate
this goal, our office has developed an in-house, 90-day interest-free payment plan.
Also available is Carecredit, a
national dental care financing program. It can provide up to
12 months financing with no initial retainer and twelve equal installments with no
interest charges to the patient. Our business staff is more than
happy to answer any questions you might have regarding payment.
Insurance
Our office follows a program which simplifies the
preparation and submission of insurance claims, thereby holding down the
office costs unrelated to the delivery of excellent dental care. With
most insurance companies we accept assignment of benefits and, as a courtesy to our
patients, the office files the claim for the patient. Once we have received the insurance payment,
the patient is billed for the balance. Payment for this balance is due upon statement receipt.
Our office carries accounts receivable for 90 days only. In all cases where insurance payment is not
received within 90 days, the patient is billed and becomes responsible for entire account. When the
insurance payment is received, it is sent to the patient. Our office cannot accommodate
those insurance companies who do not pay their claims in a timely manner.
Most insurance companies refuse to provide dental offices with blank insurance forms. Therefore, we request
that you bring a form with your personal and insurance information filled in to your first appointment. These forms
can be obtained from the human resource department at your place of employment.
It must be understood that no insurance company attempts to cover all the dental costs, and you will usually have some balance to pay even on procedures covered at "100%".
The reason for this is that insurance companies' method of determining appropriate fees for procedures are not relevant to dental practitioners. Some companies will pay fixed allowances for certain procedures, while others pay a set percentage of their established fee. It is the patient's responsibility to pay any balance not paid by their dental insurance carrier.
Please feel free to discuss any insurance questions with our business manager Toni, or our appointment coordinator Kristine.
